Oppression Deliverance

“Oppression Deliverance” is Shelly Winkle’s book outlining the struggle between oppression and the freedom that God wants for us all.  Oppression takes many forms, but it essentially can hold someone “captive” preventing them from achieving what they are called to do.

The problem is that many do not know when they are being oppressed.  Shelly’s purpose for writing this book is to tell others that we must be vigilant in not letting the enemy have the right to oppress us.

Ultimately, if a Christian is oppressed in some way, he or she cannot fulfill God’s plan for their life.  Shelly weaves the examples of her personal experience and lessons learned with finding her own personal freedom.  She includes insightful commentary on life after oppression, taking a stand, and forgiveness.

This book will speak to the reader on many levels, but it can serve best as a reminder that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

The dictionary defines oppression as a feeling of being weighed down in mind or body. Another dictionary definition is an unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power. Something that oppresses especially in being in an unjust or excessive exercise of power. Oppression can take many forms, but it essentially holds someone “captive” it can hold someone back from what they need to do. I personally believe that it can hold someone back from their God-chosen destiny. I believe that there are degrees of oppression. Some can be much worse than others. Wikipedia says that oppression is the prolonged, unjust treatment or control of people by others.
How do people know and understand that they are oppressed? I believe that is not so simple to answer. I know that I was oppressed and really did not see it until I was older. We are all created unique and individually. Each one of us has a different personality. Some are inherent and some are learned. Some individuals, as was myself at one time, were willing to give in to the demands of others to keep peace. Now being a Christian, I want you to know that I felt that I was doing the right things. Now, I understand that I should have done things differently.
